All India Quota (AIQ) accounts for 15% of medical seats and 100% of seats in central institutes (like AIIMS/IITs/NITs) and is open to candidates from any state. State Quota (85% for medical, and varying ratios for state engineering colleges) is reserved exclusively for candidates who hold domicile status in that specific state. We help you strategically optimize your choices across both quotas based on your rank.
JoSAA uses a strict computerized algorithm where once a choice is locked, seats are allocated sequentially. If you rank NIT CS above IIT Mechanical and qualify for both, you will be allocated NIT CS without the system checking your subsequent preferences. Our counsellors verify that your preference lists are built strategically so you do not lose higher tier colleges due to ordering errors.
CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) conducts special spot rounds after the regular JoSAA counselling rounds conclude. It is designed to fill leftover vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Cut-offs can drop significantly in CSAB rounds, making it a critical window for students with slightly lower ranks to secure top institutes.
Security fees deposited during registration with the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) are refundable if you are not allocated a seat, or if you take admission on the allocated seat. However, if you withdraw or fail to join after receiving a seat allotment in Round 2 or subsequent rounds, the security fee is forfeited. We audit your choice options to make sure you only list colleges you are willing to join to protect your deposit.
